Climbing Mt. Tapyas everytime I’m in Coron, Palawan was always part of my itinerary, always allotting some of my time whether alone or not, morning or afternoon. But this time I climb Mt. Tapyas the other (hard) way not the traditional cemented upstairs. Started my jump-off at the back of Municipal Hospital up to the residential road then turn left at the grassland, before reaching the No Trespassing signage I turn left.
Cabu Beach was not a typical beach with fine white sands at Busuanga Island, located far way from Coron town with rugged and dusty (or muddy) roads. It was far noticeable from Maquinit hotspring. Don’t expect extra ordinary about this place, no cottages, just a ‘kubo’ with just php 20.00 entrance fee.

Delian Island was known for divers as one of the WWII shipwrecks destination, but to a common tourists or travellers it was not an island destinations although it has white beaches and coral reef formations. Let me share some info (and photos) about this island. The ancestral domain of the Coron Tagbanua covers the 236 hectares of Delian Island, in mid 80’s the Tagbanua problems began when migrants from Visayas began streaming into nearby Delian Island. The tribe accuses these migrant fisherfolk of dynamite fishing and cyanide use. Today a deluge of migrants has practically swept the Tagbanua tribe (families) away from this island.

Twin Lagoon:This area in Coron, Palawan was once mentioned by coolhunter.net as one of the most beautiful places on earth, indeed it was beautiful. It was recommended to be part of your itinerary when you’re in Coron. However this beautiful place vanishes if we don’t take care of the ocean (environment); dump our garbage and toxic wastes. During our visit here garbage (plastics) and even human waste were anywhere in blue crystal waters, hope this place stays clean and beautiful.
Banol Beach:A clear blue green crystal waters and powdery white sands welcome you as the boat docking at Banol beach with a rocky mountains at the background. Banol Beach was one of the beautiful beach shores around Coron Island, and also has one of the pricey (overprice) entrance fees (,”). We’ve not stayed here for so long, with just a quick dip and some photos shots.

Mark with a cross at the left side of the road starts your first steps of this hill, but as I go higher I’ve noticed that there were more crosses’ along the cemented way up. I asked our ‘manong’ tricycle driver that serves also are guide about the name of this hill and he said “Agila po.” So obvious, coz it has an eagle markings (stone and cement painted in white) at the slope side of the hill.
When we asked our tricycle driver to take us to a place unfamiliar with splendid panorama, this was all we’ve ended. Far from the town proper and crowded community (by the way Culion is not crowed at all), the San Ignacio Farm Retreat House and Spirituality Center located on the hill of the mountainous side of the Island with a view of mangrove areas.
