Sidetrip at San Jose

It was early morning at the break of dawn when plane landed on San Jose Airport, so we have some extra time to visit the town proper (town plaza and the cathedral) before heading to our main destination.

Located at the southern part of Occidental Mindoro PH is a 1st class municipality of San Jose, named after its patron saint, St. Joseph, the husband of Mary. It is the centre of trade, entertainment and business in the province. Most of the people here are Visayan, BatangueƱos and Ilocanos. Tagalog is the most outspoken dialect.

To be there:
All local airline companies have a daily route from Manila. A RORO ferry has a weekly service from Manila or one can take RORO from Batangas Port to Abra de Ilog then ride a bus. There are also daily air-conditioned busses ply from Manila directly to San Jose (via RORO Batangas Port).
