A Windy Afternoon at Subuquin Port – San Juan

We’re not going to Marinduque, we’re just here to relax and have a good photo shot of the sunset. Unfortunately it was a cloudy and windy when we arrive at Subuquin Port, the wind blow hard and the wave are rough. Since August 2009 the opening of the port and since the last time I’m been here there was a big change.

The Subuquin Port has expanded the RoRo docking area and has an almost finish terminal building (as this time). It connects San Juan, Batangas to the port of Balanacan, Marinduque. The route is being serviced by Star Horse Shipping the M/V Virgen de Peñafrancia II (imported from Korea), the first vessel to service passengers at the Subuquin Port Terminal in San Juan, Batangas.

The RoRo vessel provides vital support to the agricultural, industrial, and regional development of Batangas and Marinduque. Also, it provides efficient, fast, and reliable shipping service to residents of San Juan, Batangas and Mogpog, Marinduque. There are plans to open more sea route to and from the provinces of Masbate, Romblon and Mindoro.
