Welcome to Coron – The CORON Sign

Enchanting Coron. Coron town is located at Busuanga Island in the province of Palawan, PHL (northern part). It is a 2nd class municipality. Coron is both the name of a town on and the name of the island just offshore. The municipality covers a major part of Busuanga Island and all of the nearby islands. All islands are part of the Calamian Group of Islands.
The island is famous for its wreck diving, snorkeling sites, limestone cliffs and coral reefs. So it has been named in many lists of top dive spots in the world and listed in Forbes Traveler Magazine’s top 10 best scuba diving sites in the world. But when you’re here there’s lot more adventure things to do, and a friendly townsfolk of course.
CORON sign. Welcoming every visitors of Coron is a noticeable Hollywood style sign up on a hill overlooking the town. The CORON sign is highly visible from the water especially in the market pier and baywalk area, located on a hill just below Mt. Tapyas. It was easily accessible by tricycles and a small hike up, but sadly there are vandals on the letter when we climb there.
