Tagaytay City (Cavite) is famous for the grandeur view of Taal Lake and a cool weather all year round, so last week this was my mtbike destination. Started my ride at Tanauan City in Batangas Province down to Talisay town and an uphill climb to Tagaytay City famous rotonda via Sampaloc (brgy. Leynes) road. Going back I take the steep Ligaya Drive downhill to Talisay town then take Santo Tomas town (both in Batangas) and back to Tanauan City.
Mark my jump-off at Tanauan City Plaza in front of Catholic Church.
At the Talisay town welcome marker and with a nice view along the way.
Turn right to Tagaytay City at the Brgy. Sampaloc boundary.
A great view of the Taal Lake and Volcano along the way up.
At the (mini) waterfalls along the way and the first water source up, then photo below was the last water source along the way. The water was safe to drink, cold and clear.
After a hard, hot pedalled up, it’s now the Tagaytay City Rotonda (Circle), with Ninoy monument. This rotonda was the site of the first parachute landing in the Philippines on February 1945.
Before going back to Talisay I take a side trip along the way up to Picnic Grove main entrance.
Took a rest stop at the Laeuna de Taal vieawing area.
Took a rest under the heat of the sun in one of the waiting shed in Brgy. Talaga, Tanauan City and take some photos at Mabini Shrine.
It was another safe, tiring, and enjoyable mtbike ride with a 68.8km distance route. See you again next on my “padyak”. Be safe on the road! (Maps credits to google maps/google earth.)
