Learning More at Culion Museum

Learning the rich history of Cuilon Island and Leper Colony isn’t complete without side tripping at Culion Museum & Archives. The Museum building was located inside the compound of Culion Sanitarium and General Hospital. The trip to museum starts at registration and entrance fee then an audio visual presentation welcomes you before exploring the place, but we’ve all decided not to finish the (long) audio visual presentation and starts discovering the archives and displays.

The Culion Museum & Archives showcases the former leprosy research laboratory built in 1930, with the original photographs of the area, patients, workers, and physicians and patients records that you can browse if you want including specimens.

Museum is Open from Monday to Friday and close during weekends and holidays. So visit the Island on weekdays if you want to see the leper museum. Culion are now embracing the tourism side coz I’ve noticed it in their entrance fee (“,).
