Garbo Pahiyas 2014: The Pahiyas

One of the most visited Festivals in the Philippines still getting grandiose and exciting the celebration of Pahiyas Festival 2014. Expect a huge crowd walking along the streets of Lucban town in Quezon province, also a great sum of money for the grand prize (Php 100,000) and winner of decorated (pahiyas) house. Here are some of my photos of the houses during Pahiyas Festival last Thursday, started with the grand prize (photo above).

San Isidro Pahiyas Festival is an annual celebration of bounty harvest (San Isidro Labrador the Catholic patron Saint of farmers), so expect a bountiful decoration of the house along the streets of Lucban.

Although it was not my first time to experience and visit Lucban during Pahiyas Festival, I am still fond of visiting Pahiyas every year.

‘Garbo’ Lucban Pahiyas Festival 2014 was this year theme, meaning ‘superb’ or ‘bongang bonga’ in Filipino.

It’s another fun trip and celebration of Pahiyas Festival and hoping to be there next year. More photos on ybbsOutdoors facebook page.
