Garbo Pahiyas 2014: The Parada

My second part of Garbo Lucban Pahiyas Festival 2014, the street parade (or ‘parada’). A visit to Pahiyas Festival feels incomplete without waiting and watching the street parade, of colors, beauty, culture, and craftsmanship of the Lucbanin (folks of Lucban). So here are some of my photos of the crowded streets watching the parade.

‘Pahiyas’ means ‘precious offering’ as insinuated by the root word ‘hiyas’ which means ‘jewel’. ‘Kiping’ are rice wafers made from rice dough and residents use different kinds of leaves to make different shapes and to add some flavours.

The parade starts from town Catholic Church that goes around the streets with decorated houses and ends at the Municipal town hall.
