Bike Ride to Dampalit Falls

I was left behind  when my local MTB group (STUBA) headed to Ambon Ambon Falls in Laurel, Batangas last June 22, so when the group decided to visit another waterfalls destination I readied myself on this ride last Sunday. The destination, Dampalit Falls in Los Baños, Laguna.

I’m not familiar with this place or even ever heard off although it was too near in my place. Dampalit Falls was located at Brgy. Dampalit, Los Baños, Laguna, inside Mt. Makiling Nature Reserve just a short hike from national highway (adjacent to Camp Eldridge). It has a relatively high elevation with quite small volume of falling waters; a small catch basin and belly deep water. (maybe it has huge volume of water during rainy season).

You need to pay an entrance fee of php20.00 to visit this place with a table and kubos’ for rent that ranges from php50.00 – 100.00. According to the caretaker this place was privately owned by a rich family but opened to the public.

You can bring your bicycles inside the vicinity or near the water falls for more security. We’ve stayed there for more than an hour and ate our ‘paluto’ meal before going back home. The back and forth ride records a 42.69km on my speedometer.
