each day dubai: Burj Khalifa #2

We all knew and the whole world knew that Burj Khalifa in Dubai, United Arab Emirate was the world’s tallest building standing tall at 828 meters (2,716.5 ft), the 200 plus storey has a 160 habitable levels. That is the most for any building in the world.

Join me in reviewing and compiling the fun big tall facts about Burj Khalifa in this series post of “Each Day Dubai” along with photos of Burj Khalifa around Dubai. All of the facts, news, and information about Burj Khalifa are from Emaar, news, staff and people living and working in this tallest building and with my own experiences.

Burj Khalifa 101

1. Developed by Emaar Properties PJSC a Dubai-based.
2. World’s tallest/highest building at 828 meters, that’s about the height of approximately 200 palm trees stacked one on top of the other.
3. It is described as a ‘Global Icon’ by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat. This honour is special because it is awarder to tall structures only once in 10 or 15 years.
4. Inaugurated on January 4, 2010 to coincide to match with the fourth anniversary of the Accession Day of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum as the ruler of Dubai.
5. With a total built-up area of 5.67 million square feet, it features 1.82 million square feet of residential space and over 300,000 square feet of prime office space.
