Last year according to attractiontix.com the Burj Khalifa has been ranked number three in the world’s top attractions for taking selfies, behind the Eiffel Tower in Paris and Disneyworld in Florida, counted 8,860 selfies on Instagram.

6. Did you know that the tower took 22 million man hours to build. It has a record breaking 330,000 cubic meters of concrete equivalent to the weight of 100,000 elephants.

7. It has a 39,000 tonnes of steel reinforcement and 15,500 square meters of embossed stainless steel used for cladding. The amount of steel rebar used for the tower is 31,400 metric tons, laid end to end this would extend over a quarter of the way around the world.

8. The cladding of the tower contains over 24,000 individually cut glass panels and has a 103,000 square meters of glass used for façade.

9. Over 40 wind tunnel test were conducted on Burj Khalifa to examine the effects the wind would have on the tower and its occupants.

10. It became the world’s tallest man-made structure just 1,325 days after excavation work started in January 2004.
